Quality Control is fundamental to the way
Aecon conducts its business.
Our success is dependent on superior quality standards in all we do. Continuous improvement is our methodology to ensure compliance, and our Quality Manual is the standard in which we base that approach.
Our quality strategy is built on five key cornerstones:
- Our procedures provide the basic framework directed at industry standards and codes.
- Our inspection test plans are an important part of our strategy; these plans constitute the tools we use to make conscious, up-front decisions about aspects of our work that require attention.
- Our quality control staff plays a very proactive and important role, and form part of our execution strategy on every job we do.
- Our Best Practices initiative at Aecon is another important part of our quality strategy. “Best Practices” has become a guiding principal in our business model. This program is now engrained in our strategic plans and the way we conduct our business on a day-to-day basis. The goal here is to continuously seek out best practices and optimize the way we conduct our work.
- We believe all our people must assume personal accountability for the quality of their work. We call for our supervisory staff to sign off on all key operations to signify they personally stand behind the quality of their people’s work, which signifies our fundamental feeling about people accepting personal responsibility for the work they do.
Quality at Aecon is much more than a collection of procedures and inspections; the most important standard is how we measure up to our client’s expectations.
