| The Aecon health
and safety program is proactive and is based on
behavioral-based safety techniques. It was developed
in-house by our Health, Safety & Environmental
department and focuses on all aspects of construction
safety including on site Environmental Awareness.
It is used throughout our North American operations.
Our program has been audited externally by Construction
Safety Groups in Canada and the USA and has received
enviable safety recognition and awards. The CSAO
has audited Aecon’s Health, Safety and Environmental
program by construction site inspections yearly
since 1999 with consistent, excellent results.
Aecon has received a Certificate of Recognition
(COR) in Alberta and Nova Scotia administered
by provincial regulators. Aecon is directly involved
with many safety associations across Canada and
advocates for the improvement of Safety in Construction.
